used to connect two cables with PL259 plugs on together.

VHF and AIS systems all use 50ohm connectors and cables. For good system performance it is important to use the correct impedance cables and connectors otherwise losses will occur in your system.

To build your own patch VHF cable with a PL259 connector on each end, order RG58 coax the length you require, and 2 x PL259 plugs. You will need a soldering iron to fit the plugs! Commonly used for connecting Antenna splitters or SWR meters to VHF Transceivers.
