From small maintenance chargers to heavy duty, high capacity chargers. We recommend the use of good quality chargers that have been designed with the marine market in mind.
Whilst specialist chargers sometimes look expensive when compared to "automotive" car chargers, the user should be aware that they are completely different devices. The automotive charger is designed for occasional use with the intention of putting in just enough charge to re-start the vehicle.
Marine chargers are intended for long term use and maintenance of the batteries. Quite often the charger will be required to support DC loads on the boat whilst in dock and connected to shore supply. Multistage charging is the norm, including boost, and maintenance and float charging, so your batteries are kept in tip-top condition ensuring extended periods when undersail or at anchor, therefore reducing the need to run engines or generators for charging.
