The T200B is a low cost AIS Class B Transponder, designed specifically for the small commercial boat, fishing boat and leisure markets. It meets the Class B standard that allows vessels that are not required to fit Class A units to voluntarily fit an AIS transponder.

The T200B is a compact self contained unit which, when connected to an external VHF and GPS antenna, will transmit its own vessels position and data, and also receive information from other AIS vessels, shore stations and navigational aids within VHF range.

The unit is initially programmed by the user with the supplied software over a USB interface. The T200B is compatible with a range of computer based navigation programs and chart plotters that can accept AIS data sentences over a NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 connection.

ALL AIS TRANSCEIVERS require a dedicated GPS antenna. The T200 units are not supplied with one, they need to be ordered separately. The Comar AG100 listed in the related products below is the recommended antenna, although an existing spare GPS antenna may also be suitable. The GPS antenna connector is a TNC threaded type, so if using an existing antenna with a BNC bayonet type, a BNC to TNC adapter will be required, also available in related products.
