This is the heart of the autopilot. It processes the signals in the autopilot system, accepting information from the control unit, compass and rudder feedback as well as the plotter/navigation receiver, remote controls and other peripheral equipment.
It contains the steering computer with its sophisticated steering algorithms and delivers instructions and power to the drive unit.
